Terms of Service

Last updated: October 8, 2026

Welcome to the D.O.C Community

By using this app, you agree to these Terms of Service. The D.O.C Community is a digital gathering space for individuals in recovery and their allies. Our mission is to support honesty, connection, and service. Please read these terms carefully.

1. Who We Are

The D.O.C Community app provides recovery-focused tools including meeting schedules, journals, inventories, meditations, an AI Sponsor assistant, community feed, games, volunteer opportunities, and podcast content. We are not affiliated with any specific recovery program, though we draw inspiration from 12-step traditions and principles.

2. Who Can Use This App

This app is open to anyone seeking recovery support, including those in recovery, their families, and allies. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. By registering, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate.

3. Community Guidelines

You agree to:

  • Treat all members with respect, kindness, and dignity.
  • Keep what is shared here confidential — anonymity is a spiritual foundation.
  • Not post harmful, threatening, discriminatory, or illegal content.
  • Not use the app to solicit, sell, or promote outside businesses.
  • Not impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity.
  • Respect the privacy and anonymity of fellow members at all times.

Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent removal from the community.

Zero tolerance

There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. You can filter objectionable words before posting, and every post, comment, message and profile has Report and Block. Reports are reviewed and acted on within 24 hours: the content is removed and the member who posted it is ejected from the community.

To report something, use the “…” menu on the content or the Report button on a profile. Questions or urgent concerns: email support@day1sober.org.

4. AI Sponsor & AI Features

The AI Sponsor and other AI-powered features (journal feedback, meditations) are supportive tools — not a replacement for a human sponsor, professional counselor, medical advice, or emergency services. AI responses are generated and may not always be accurate or appropriate for your situation. Always bring important decisions to your real sponsor, therapist, and fellowship.

5. Crisis & Emergency Situations

This app is not a crisis line or emergency service. If you are in crisis, experiencing thoughts of self-harm, or need immediate help, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or 911immediately. Do not rely on this app for urgent situations.

6. Your Content & Privacy

You retain ownership of the content you share (posts, journals, inventories, recordings). By posting, you grant the D.O.C Community a license to display and use your content within the app. Private entries (journals, inventories) are visible only to you unless you choose to share them. Shared content is visible to the community.

We respect the tradition of anonymity. Do not share another member's identity, stories, or personal information outside this app.

7. Donations & Payments

Donations and any paid features are processed through Base44 Payments. All transactions are subject to the payment provider's terms. Donations are voluntary and non-refundable except where required by law. If you believe a charge was made in error, please contact us.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Attempt to access, tamper with, or disrupt the app's systems or data.
  • Use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to extract data from the app.
  • Upload viruses, malware, or harmful code.
  • Use the app for any unlawful purpose.

9. Limitation of Liability

The D.O.C Community app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to reliance on AI-generated content, community interactions, or loss of data. You use the app at your own risk.

10. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time from your Profile page, or by emailing support@day1sober.org as described in our Privacy Policy. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or pose a risk to the community.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the app evolves. Significant changes will be communicated within the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
